Dr. Gu is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Rockets Capital, and the Vice Chairman and President of XPeng Inc. (NYSE: XPEV). 

His main areas of responsibility at XPeng include strategy, finance, legal, investments, and globalization efforts. Since joining XPeng in 2018, Dr. Gu has successfully led many landmark capital raising activities for the company, totaling over $8.3 billion. These have included XPeng’s listing debut on the New York Stock Exchange in 2020, raising $1.7 billion in one of 2020’s most successful US IPOs for a Chinese company, and the subsequent $2.5 billion follow-on issuance, the largest ever first-time follow-on ADS offering by a Chinese company. During his 20-year investment banking career, Dr. Gu has advised numerous global leading companies on their strategy and landmark transactions, totaling over $200 billion in transaction volume.

Dr Gu holds an MBA from Yale University, a Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry from University of Washington and a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from University of Oregon.

Mr. Yuan has over 25 years of experience in investment banking and private equity industries. He spent over 12 years in investment banking in both New York and Hong Kong, and assisted numerous prominent Chinese companies in completing their IPO, corporate finance and M&A transactions. Prior to co-founding Rockets Capital, he worked at Hony Capital for over 12 years, where he was responsible for all of Hony’s equity investment operations, including private equity, venture capital, Goldstream hedge fund, and Horizon mutual fund, with a total AUM of over US$10 billion.

Mr. Yuan holds a Juris Doctorate’s degree from Yale Law School, a Master’s degree in International Relations from Yale University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Nanjing University.

Mr. Bao has over 10 years of private equity investment and post-investment experience. Prior to joining Rockets Capital, he worked at SDIC, Hony Capital and FirstRed, focusing on new energy, advanced manufacturing and high tech investment, with a total investment over RMB 6 billion. Mr. Bao also worked at Infore Environment(000967.SZ) as Vice President and CIO in 2020 to 2021.

Mr. Bao holds Master Degree in Materials Science and Quantitative Analysis from University of Rochester，and EMBA from Kellogg School of Business, Northwestern University.

Mr.Xiang serves as Vice President at Rockets Capital.

Prior to joining Rockets Capital, Mr Xiang worked at XPeng Motors Corporate Finance  and  Investments  Department.  He  contributed  to  the  Hong  Kong Listing project of Xpeng Motors, and fully participated in several strategic investment transactions, including Sunwoda EVB, Zvision, InventChip, etc. Mr. Xiang  has  Summer  Intern  experiences  in  local  and  international  top-tier investment banks with return offers extended; he also has strong internship exposures  in  various  famous  local  funds,  covering  deep-tech,  TMT,  and consumer sector.

Mr.Xiang holds a Bachelor's degree in BEcon from Sun Yat-sen  University and a Master degree in Finance from MIT.

Jiabin Gui (Felix) serves as an Associate at Rockets Capital. 

Prior to joining Rockets Capital, he worked for Huashan Capital as an Associate. Felix holds a Bachelor’s degree in Materials Physics from Nanjing University, and a Master’s degree in Applied & Engineering Physics from Technische Universität München. 

Dr. Zhang serves as an Associate at Rockets Capital. 

Dr. Zhang has years of academic experience in the field of environmental science and sustainable development, and has academic achievements on the topics of urban carbon emission and sustainable energy utilization.Before joining RocketCapital, Dr. Zhangworkedat Country Garden Venture Capital and focused on the field of new and renewable energy.

Dr. Zhang holds Master and Bachelor Degree from Tsinghua University of Engineering and a PhD in Evironmental Science from Kanazawa  University  (National  University  of  Japan).

Harper Zhang serves as an Associate at Rockets Capital.

Before joining Rockets Capital,Ms.Zhang specialized in deep tech investments at Keytone Ventures. She focuses heavily on the essential hardware foundation powering the LLM era, targeting cutting-edge semiconductor sectors including high-performance computing chips (GPUs/AI accelerators), advanced optical communications, and optical interconnect technologies.

Harper Zhang Holds a Master Degree in  Finance from Nanyang Technological University, and Bachelor in Management from Peking University.

Ms. Shi serves as an Analyst at Rockets Capital.

Ms. Shi focuses on cutting-edge technologies such as new energy and intelligent manufacturing. She graduated from Peking University HSBC Business School and the School of Finance at Renmin University of China. Before joining Rockets Capital, Ms. Shi interned at several investment institutions including IDG Capital, Hony Capital, ZWC Partners, and Sinovation Ventures, where she participated in investment projects in new energy, intelligent manufacturing and other fields.

Ms. Shi holds a Master Degree in  Finance from Peking University, and Bachelor in Finance from Renmin University of China.

Mr. Zhang is experienced in finance management and fund operations in private equity industries (PE/VC/Real Estate Fund/Mezz Fund). He specializes in reporting, valuation, tax management, cash management and post investment management of whole lifecycle of private equity fund. Before joining Rockets Capital, he worked at KPMG, Hony Capital and ByteDance.

Mr. Zhang graduated from Jilin University with a Master’s degree in Accounting and a Bachelor’s degree in Management.

Ms. Zhao is the Legal Director of Rockets Capital. 

She has practiced for nearly 10 years in private equity investment and M&A. Before joining Rockets Capital, Ms. Zhao worked at GSR Ventures and was responsible for legal matters in fundraising, investment, portfolio management and exit of RMB and USD funds; Prior to this, Ms. Zhao worked at
Fangda Partners, focusing on private equity investment and M&A, and serving top funds and internet companies.
 
Ms. Zhao graduated from Peking University with a Master’s degree in Law and a Bachelor’s degree in Literature and Economics.
